I don’t often leave reviews but…. As a fifty two year old lady rider with the beginnings of arthritis in my hands and a very strong Dutch warmblood horse who is very difficult to get on the bit and maintain on the bit these reins have literally changed my life! And his!! I am a rein fiddler usually due to pain in my hands. Now I have no need to fiddle as I’m comfortable so I have a happier more settled horse who responds and listens with the minimum of fuss. He’s obviously more comfortable too. These reins should be available on the NHS! I can now easily get him on the bit and for the first time he s soft in my hands whilst maintaining an outline. My hands are stiller and that has also improved my posture and overall control. Even my instructor has said that the change is amazing. Thank you for inventing these reins. I am going to buy a pair in brown to to match my jump saddle!!
Thank you from Danielle and Roo x
I love the Aaron Vale reins. They have made such a difference for me and my horse. He is going so much better now in the bridle, because I'm not constantly breaking my contact. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and it was getting near impossible to hold my reins. They were constantly slipping through my fingers.but not anymore. Thanks so much for a wonderful product. They have changed.my life🙂
I bought this in hopes that it would help to block my impulse to micromanage my 5 year old warmblood gelding’s stride. We’d been jumping mini crossrails and pole courses at most with some inconsistent pacing and wiggles, but on my first day using this, my trainer had us jumping our first grid (and oxers!) with a straight, through canter. My horse felt so much happier and simpler beneath me. He’s a trier, but he “checks out” when he’s confused, so having this to remind me to keep things simple is a game changer. Just be prepared to feel it in your abs. I knew I could get picky through my hands (hence the reason I bought this), but I didn’t realize exactly how much I wasn’t using my core! This isn’t for anyone who wants the easy way out.
My riding instructors found this and suggested It might work well for me. I absolutely love it! I have been riding for about 4 years and bought my first horse 2 years ago. He is a beautiful draft Q horse cross. About 15 years old. He was used as a pack/trail horse his whole life until I got him. Now he is an English gentleman. We have come a
long way together. Training in dressage and now small xrails jumps. The Correct Connect breastplate has instantly improved my riding and his response. It took me no time at all to get use to holding the toggles. They felt so comfortable and natural in my hands. It is by far the best addition to my tack. Very functional in regards to a breastplate to keep the saddle in place. Making me feel secure in trot canter transitions. Keeping my hand in a good position ( not pulling up causing my horse to get tense). The additional neck strap to grab in those ‘moments’ where you need extra security. Everything feels very comfortable and natural. The quality is outstanding!
I've been wanting to try the Fairfax breastplate for years, but just couldn't justify the cost of it - I was searing around and found this one and bought 2 - they are buttery soft, super leather.
I put one on my 16.1 TB (wears a 78 blanket) and it's almost on the smallest adjustments. Put the other on my 17.1 Irish Draught Sport Horse (wears 84 blanket), and it fits her nicely - so pretty adjustable.
Highly recommend this piece of tack!
Need patience while awaiting delivery, took longer than predicted by company (To Ireland).
The quality of the breastplate is good, nicely padded & soft around chest area.
The toggles take a bit of getting used to, having extra bulk in your hands & it makes adjusting you rein length more complicated.
However once you get comfortable the breastplate definitely helps with hand steadiness & placement while jumping.
It is expensive, especially with delivery & customs charges overseas, but worth saving for & would recommend.
