We reinvented the neck strap with an extra rolled leather "handle" that sits above the neck strap for an easy hold that extends up to 16 inches (40cm).

The Double Neck Strap is fully adjustable and snaps onto both of the saddle D-Rings to conform to FEI rules and customize it to fit the horse and rider. Straps may be altered and trimmed to fit based on riding style and horses conformation.

Want a longer strap? We offer a 21 inch (53cm) Extra Long Add-On Strap that is sold separately.

With a measuring tape, measure around the horse's neck where you want the Double Neck Strap to sit.

Full: measures 40" (102cm) - 50" (127cm) circumference. Fits most horses and cobs.

Extra Full: measures 50"(127cm) - 64" (163cm) circumference. Fits large draft-type horses.

Pony: measures 31" (79cm) - 44" (112cm) circumference. Fits most medium to very small ponies.

Confidence booster

At 72, I still enjoy riding my horses recreationally and alone several times a week. However, my body is stiffer and weaker, and my reaction time is SLOW when it comes to spooks and stumbles. My balance has gone downhill too. All this means that if I get a good spook out of a horse, I can fly off and get hurt. And at this age, I already naturally hurt enough without having flown off a horse and landed in the gravel. Hence, I have more fear these days and it is interfering with my riding. I saw the Double Neck Strap on Facebook and IMMEDIATELY thought it would be good for me and my horse. I was right!! Both my 17h and 13.2h horses are behaved, but it is spring, after all, and I know they are feeling spunkier. On my first ride on my big gelding, I let him gallop up a hill, and he went so fast that I lost my stirrups. The double neck strap handle was right there for me to grab, and it stabilized my lousy position and helped keep me balanced. I know it was cheating. I shouldn't have had to grab the handle, I should have had more control with reins and aids, yada yada. But let's get real. Poop happens, and we oldsters have to be ready for it. I love the Double Neck Strap and will probably always use it from now on, on all the horses I ride.
