Aaron Vale Rein with 3 Slim Hand Grips

$263.00 AUD

Created in collaboration with Aaron Vale, one of America's most successful and prolific Grand Prix Show Jumping riders.

Invented to offer more comfort and stability with a unique hand-stitched rein stop. The slim stop is a smaller, more streamlined grip with less padding. The rein adjusts so the grips can be placed precisely where the horse and rider find their best connection. It improves the straight line from the bit to the elbow and encourages more relaxed arms and softer hands.

For dressage or jumping these reins provide riders of all skill levels a more comfortable and simpler way of keeping their rein length.

This rein is a training tool to help riders and horses create muscle memory that can be recalled for competition.

Several Benefits

It took one ride to get used to them, if that. I definitely feel a better contact with my horses’ mouths, which is somewhat counterintuitive when you look at their design. I’m an ex motocross racer so I have a tendency to flare my elbows out when I ride, which is proper for motocross but less so for equestrian sports. It’s an unconscious habit I have been trying to break. The grips on these reins supinate my wrists more and naturally bring my elbows inward. That has been a pig plus in terms of quieting my hands. And last, one of our horses tends to throw her head down when she wants to stop working. This would cause normal reins to slip. The grips on these reins prevent slippage. Since using these reins with this particular horse, she has stopped throwing her head as much and also seems to move straighter. I have purchased numerous products from this company and have never once been disappointed. Their customer service is also excellent. I paid full price for these reins and have no financial interest in, or sponsorship with, this company.

Changed my life!!

My reins were always too long. These reins take that error right out of the equation.

Slim hand grip reins

Although I just started using the reins , the hand grips are very stiff and a bit wide for my hands despite being described as “slim”, but I am hoping they will soften some with continued use. They are serving the purpose that I purchased and will continue to use.
